Consisting of drums and keyboards, Drums & Ivory is a Kingston Ontario based duo act featuring two talented veterans of the Kingston music scene - Tim Hallman on the keyboards and vocals, and Gary Barratt on the drum set. - This proven combination of drums and keyboards is reminiscent of another popular 1980's Kingston duo - Doctor Drums and The Ragtime Kidd. of which Gary Barratt was a founding member. - This simple formula works because the keyboards provide a full sound and the live drums hold everything together making it very danceable. Everything is performed live on the spot with no sequencing, backing tracks or digital trickery. Drums & Ivory can also provide subdued background, or dinner music depending on what your occasion requires, and with a set list of over 300 songs covering all genres from jazz standards to country, rock and roll, and pop rock there is no problem providing great live music for any occasion. Requiring little room for setup this is an affordable alternative to hiring a full band. Tim and Gary also appear as the "RETROS" when backing up singer Mary-Jo Maur.
